  • I take my Westie here. I have been going since Dr. Maples took over & love how they treat my dog. I was able to get be seen first thing in the morning when I noticed my dog had a UTI. I also like how they email you lab results as soon as they get them, mail out reminders, and provide all your pet’s information on their website.

  • Dr. Maple and the staff at S.E.V.C. are incredibly caring and professional. They treated our new kitten like the member of the family she is, gently and thoughtfully. After having some bad experiences with other Vets. mistreating are cats. We completely trust having our pets in their care.

  • We cannot say enough good things about Dr. Maples and his staff at South End Vet. We started taking our two cats to Dr. Maples several years ago when he was at Sharon Road Animal Hospital and followed him here when he took over this practice (a year or so ago). You can tell he loves what he does and is most knowledgeable. He took care of our cats through ailments like UTIs, kidney stones, kidney failure, ear mites, fleas, heart issues and cancer with patience and clear know-how. He showed genuine care for our cats at all times, bending over backwards to help us and our cats several times. I could go on and on about the great personal care Dr. Maples and his staff provides. We recently lost our last cat and there’s no doubt when we’re ready for another pet or two, we’ll be returning to Dr. Maples. We can’t imagine finding another vet so dedicated to superior care.

  • Dr. Maples is one of the most caring, sensitive individuals I have dealt with in my 62 years. He loves animals and knows how devastating losing a loving good friend can be. He is in the right profession and those that use his clinic will be in the right hands. I cant recommend him highly enough. I am from Columbia, but recently had to help my daughter with her sick dog. This guy met us on a Sunday afternoon when the clinic was closed. I’d be derelict, if I did not inform the Charlotte area of such a dedicated vet.

  • Fantastic vet and great pricing – This hospital is now owned by Dr. Maples and he’s an incredible vet! I’ve used him for all my doggies for years and wouldn’t use anyone else. I just switched my 5 dogs from the hospital I’ve used for years to his hospital, althought it’s much further away. He’s very knowledgeable, and won’t recommend test or medicines your animal doesn’t need. Prices are great and much lower than I’ve been paying. By the way, the office staff couldn’t be nicer or more helpful. Three cheers for this hospital. I love it!

  • Dr. Gene Maples just bought this practice (7/2012), and we are very happy to have him taking care of our two dogs.  He and his staff (Caroline and Andrea) are the type of folks who get down on the floor to meet and greet your pets.   We have found that they are pleasant, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and quite skilled in diagnosing and treating as well as providing preventative services.  One of our dogs is older and Dr. Maples offered several options for treatment and was sensitive to our dog’s health and comfort and the cost involved.  We give South End Vet five stars.
